Dr. Deepak Adhikari has dedicated over two decades to advancing Nepal-China diplomatic relations, drawing on his deep expertise in international affairs and his long-standing commitment to bilateral cooperation across the Himalayan divide.

Academic Foundation

After completing his undergraduate studies in Political Science at Tribhuvan University, Dr. Adhikari pursued advanced research in international relations, earning his doctorate with a dissertation examining the evolution of Nepal-China treaties from 1955 to the present day. His academic work has been cited in numerous policy papers and diplomatic briefings on South Asian regional cooperation.

He has held visiting fellowships at Peking University and the China Institute of International Studies, where he contributed to joint research projects on trans-Himalayan connectivity and the Belt and Road Initiative’s implications for landlocked nations.

Professional Contributions

Currently serving as a senior advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Adhikari has been instrumental in shaping policy frameworks for cultural and economic engagement between Nepal and China. He has represented Nepal at multiple bilateral summits and played a key role in negotiating educational exchange agreements that have enabled hundreds of Nepali students to pursue studies in Chinese universities.

Friendship between nations is not built in conference halls alone — it grows through the daily exchange of knowledge, language, and shared aspiration between ordinary citizens.
